To create a community of Japanese Culture through the generations.
- Mission
To create a portal through which people with an established or still-growing
interest in Japanese Culture can share their knowledge and experience
across generations.
- Our Goal
We have developed a "mekiki" (or appraisal) system for
pricing our kimonos. Experts in evaluating new and used kimonos
help us assign appropriate prices for our inventory. Ultimately,
our goal is to develop a worldwide market. We hope to spread the
kimono that our ancestors have taken care of for generations.

About "e-kimono NPO Support Program", charity auction
Unfortunately, a culture of giving is immature in Japan. Many grants
for nonprofits don't cover administrative costs. Therefore, many Japanese
nonprofits have a constant cash flow problem. To break through such
a problem, we give civic groups proceeds from an internet charity
auction.
How It Works.
1. A Japanese nonprofit asks its members and supporters to donate
antiques kimono.
2. i-kimono.. puts those kimono items up on the internet auction.
3. A successful bidder receives the item after she or he pays i-kimono
the bid amount.
4. i-kimono gives the proceeds to the nonprofit after subtracting
i-kimono's service charge
(3,000 yen, approximately twenty five US dollars) and royalty (15%
of the bid price).
When the items is bid for 10,000 yen, 6,500 yes (10,000 yen - (10,000x15%
+ 3,000 yen) goes to a nonprofit.
* The amount of the contribution to
Kyoto Lighthouse became 3,466,910 yen because of the accumulation
on 10-20-10.
